An exciting opportunity is now available for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the dedicated team at The Sainsbury Wing, a specialist private healthcare facility within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust at Hammersmith Hospital.
This role offers the perfect balance of NHS excellence and private patient care, giving you the chance to work with leading clinicians while developing your clinical expertise across multiple specialties.
About The Sainsbury Wing
The Sainsbury Wing is a 26-bed mixed specialty unit providing high-quality care across a wide range of disciplines, including:
- Haematology
- Hepatobiliary care
- Gynaecology
- Cardiology and cardiothoracic services
- Upper gastrointestinal (GI) care
The unit also features an ambulatory care unit and outpatient department, supporting patients undergoing complex surgeries, outpatient chemotherapy, and cancer-related treatments.
Your Role as a Band 5 Staff Nurse
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care while supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned nursing care independently for a group of patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care using evidence-based practices
- Administer medications safely in line with Trust policies
- Monitor patient progress and support timely, safe discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic patient records
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and support junior staff, students, and healthcare assistants
- Ensure clinical environments remain safe, clean, and well-equipped
- Participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
