Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with PACU or Recovery experience looking to grow your career in a dynamic surgical environment? This opportunity allows you to work in a fast-paced Post-Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (PACU) where you will provide critical care for patients recovering from major surgical procedures.

Working as part of a dedicated clinical team, you will help ensure patients receive safe, high-quality care during the important recovery phase following surgery.

About the Role

In this position, you will work within a busy Post-Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (PACU), caring for patients immediately after major surgical procedures. You will assess patient conditions, plan and deliver personalised care, and monitor recovery progress to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The role is supported by the Nurse Unit Manager and Shift Leaders, who provide guidance and leadership to maintain high standards of patient safety and care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and monitoring patients recovering from surgery
  • Planning and delivering individualised patient care within the PACU
  • Responding promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing teams
  • Ensuring clinical documentation and safety protocols are followed

The position operates on a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends, so flexibility is essential.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse with strong clinical experience in a hospital setting, particularly within PACU or recovery units.

You will bring a passion for patient care and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment are essential.

Key Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Proven experience in Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) or Recovery nursing
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performing multidisciplinary team
  • Strong clinical judgement and attention to patient safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty are highly regarded but not essential.

Salary and Remuneration

Successful candidates will receive a competitive remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.

  • Hourly Rate: $40.24 – $56.52
  • Additional Benefits: Superannuation plus penalty rates and allowances where applicable

The salary range follows the NSW Ramsay Health Care Nurses & Midwives Level 1 classification.
