Are you an experienced Registered Practice Nurse looking for a rewarding role in primary healthcare? The Doctors Whangaparaoa is currently seeking a dedicated nurse to join our supportive clinical team and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, offering 24 hours per week across four days (Monday to Thursday). The role also provides the opportunity to cover additional shifts when team members are on annual or sick leave.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Whangaparaoa medical centre, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare services. The position focuses on maintaining high clinical standards while supporting innovative approaches in primary care.

You will work alongside a diverse and experienced healthcare team, including:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Practice Assistants
  • Health Coach
  • Health Improvement Practitioner
  • Nurse Practitioner

Mentoring and professional support will be provided to help the successful candidate continue developing their skills within the primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality clinical services within the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe and effective primary care nursing services
  • Supporting patient consultations and clinical procedures
  • Assisting with immunisations, cervical screening, and routine health checks
  • Promoting preventative healthcare and community wellbeing
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation
  • Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team
  • Supporting patients and their whānau with compassionate care

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a skilled and motivated nurse who is passionate about community healthcare and committed to delivering excellent patient care.

Essential Requirements

  • Current New Zealand Nursing Council practicing certificate
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Experience working in primary care or general practice
  • Smear training
  • Immunisation certification
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient and whānau-centred care
  • Clinical practice aligned with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced computer and clinical systems skills
  • Postgraduate nursing qualification
  • Experience working with the Kare Project
  • Nurse Prescriber experience
