As a Bank Nurse, you will provide high-quality, individualised palliative and end-of-life care to children and young people with complex needs. You’ll step in to support the team during periods of high demand, staff absence, or annual leave—ensuring continuity of care at all times.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver holistic, family-centred care while quickly adapting to different shifts and clinical situations.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Compassionate Care

  • Provide specialist paediatric palliative care tailored to each child’s needs
  • Support children with complex, life-limiting conditions
  • Ensure dignity, comfort, and emotional wellbeing at all times

Flexible Team Support

  • Provide additional clinical cover across day, night, and weekend shifts
  • Integrate quickly into the team and contribute effectively
  • Maintain consistent standards of care across all shifts

Family-Centred Approach

  • Communicate sensitively with children and their families
  • Offer reassurance and emotional support during challenging times
  • Build meaningful relationships that enhance the care experience

Maintain Clinical Excellence

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care
  • Adhere to infection control and clinical governance standards
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (Adult or Children’s) with paediatric experience
  • Ideally 2+ years post-registration experience
  • Understanding of children’s palliative care and complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing clinical environments
  • Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented approach
