About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within the Allawah Memory Support Unit, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide compassionate care to residents.
Using contemporary clinical practices and evidence-based standards, you will support residents and their families while promoting health, safety, and quality of life.
This role requires flexibility to work morning, afternoon, and night shifts across a seven-day roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred nursing care aligned with AHPRA professional standards
- Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to individualised care planning
- Provide support, advice, and referrals to enhance residents’ health and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
- Promote effective communication across departments and care teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of care
- Advocate for residents while supporting their families and carers
As part of a small rural hospital team, staff may occasionally assist in other areas during roster shortages, reinforcing our collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing or higher qualification
- Demonstrated clinical competency in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards
- Previous nursing experience in a general or specialised setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of National Health Reform, National Standards, and Aged Care Standards
- Ability to deliver excellent clinical care
- Capability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to advocate for residents and their care needs
Desirable Skills
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Minimum two years of general nursing experience, preferably in aged care
- Experience in quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
