About the Registered Nurse Role
As a Registered Nurse in aged care, you will deliver high-quality, individualised nursing care to residents with a range of healthcare needs. This includes supporting residents with complex clinical requirements such as wound care, pain management, and ongoing health monitoring.
You will also provide leadership during your shift by supervising care staff and ensuring that residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional and compassionate nursing care to residents
- Manage complex clinical needs including wound and pain management
- Lead and support care staff during shifts
- Monitor resident wellbeing and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, and the healthcare team
- Ensure high standards of aged care nursing practice and resident safety
Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this Registered Nurse aged care position, you will bring both clinical expertise and a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 6 months post-graduate nursing experience
- Current AHPRA registration
- Strong clinical knowledge and nursing assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff

Workplace Requirements
To work at Eldercare, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A valid police clearance suitable for working in aged care (issued within the last 12 months)
- Compliance with Eldercare’s Employee Immunisation Policy, including:
- Annual seasonal influenza vaccination (by 1 June each year)
- COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with current ATAGI guidelines
