Logan Hospital is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join Ward 2I – Surgery & Critical Care Services. These permanent and temporary part-time opportunities (48–72 hours per fortnight) offer the chance to provide high-quality, person-centred care to Orthopaedic and Acute Surgical patients in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

About the Registered Nurse Role

As a Registered Nurse in Ward 2I, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-focused care within a busy surgical ward. Working alongside experienced healthcare professionals, you will contribute to coordinated treatment plans while ensuring patients receive the highest standard of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred nursing care through comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Provide care to Orthopaedic and Acute Surgical patients, including both elective and emergency admissions
  • Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Apply strong clinical judgement and critical thinking to respond to changing patient conditions
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain evidence-based nursing practice
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture within a team nursing model
  • Provide guidance and support to junior nurses, students, and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

We are searching for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who values teamwork and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a surgical environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience in, or strong interest in, acute or surgical nursing
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
  • A proactive approach to patient safety and quality improvement
