About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Alexandra District Health, you will work collaboratively with the clinical leadership team across the Urgent Care Centre and Acute Ward. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a 24/7 service, including after-hours on-call support backed by experienced hospital medical staff.
You will play a key role in empowering patients to actively participate in their care, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in acute and urgent care settings
- Support patient-centred care planning, goal setting, and decision-making
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and risk management initiatives
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff, graduates, and students
- Maintain clinical excellence aligned with ADH values and standards
Essential Criteria
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in acute nursing, including emergency and medical/surgical care
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritise and respond effectively in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work across rotating shifts (AM, PM, Night Duty), including weekends and public holidays
- Current influenza vaccination (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
