About the Mercy Health Albury Palliative Care Unit

The Mercy Health Albury Palliative Care Unit provides specialised care for individuals living with life-limiting illnesses across the Albury region.

This service includes:

  • A 10-bed inpatient palliative care unit
  • Community-based palliative care services
  • Comprehensive holistic care and symptom management

Patients are supported by a highly experienced multidisciplinary healthcare team, including:

  • Palliative care physicians
  • Nursing professionals
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Social workers
  • Dietitians
  • Speech pathologists
  • Pastoral care workers

Together, the team provides clinical, psychological, and spiritual support for patients and families, ensuring care is delivered with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Your Role in the Palliative Care Team

As a member of the palliative care nursing team, you will play an essential role in delivering best-practice care within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality patient-centred palliative care
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Advocating for patients and their families
  • Supporting holistic care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses
  • Contributing to compassionate care that prioritises dignity, comfort, and quality of life
