Key Responsibilities

Public Health Nursing

  • Provide community-based nursing services, including health assessments, screenings, and vaccinations.
  • Promote wellness through health education programs targeting diverse populations.
  • Respond to public health concerns and implement preventive strategies to reduce disease spread.

Patient Advocacy & Care Coordination

  • Connect individuals and families with appropriate health care services.
  • Collaborate with community partners, local health providers, and government agencies.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for patients navigating public health systems.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of nursing interventions and patient interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with Maryland Department of Health regulations and public health guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance community health outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current Maryland licensure.
  • Proven experience in community health nursing or public health practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate and advocate for community members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse community settings.
  • Knowledge of public health policies, preventive care programs, and local health regulations.
