Salary: $128,151 – $137,674 per year + 12% superannuation
Employment Type: Permanent (Community-Based or FIFO Options Available)
Locations: Galiwin’ku, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak, and Ramingining

Miwatj Health is seeking an experienced Child Health Registered Nurse to join its remote primary health care team in East Arnhem Land. This rewarding role focuses on delivering high-quality child and family health services for children aged 0–17 years, supporting community wellbeing through culturally responsive care.

You will work closely with families, community members, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to improve child health outcomes in remote communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive child health programs and coordinate care for children with complex or chronic conditions
  • Provide primary health care services following CARPA clinical guidelines
  • Support and evaluate community health initiatives and preventative programs
  • Work across school clinics, outreach programs, and health centres
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and health records
  • Build strong, culturally safe relationships with families and communities
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster when required
  • Provide autonomous clinical care using advanced child health nursing skills

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong clinical experience and a genuine commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in child, paediatric, or adolescent health
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Understanding of remote primary health care and community-based care models
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and knowledge of Indigenous health issues
  • Ability and willingness to live and work in a remote community setting
  • Current Working With Children Check, National Police Clearance, and Australian driver’s licence
  • NT Immunisation Certificate and Advanced Life Support certification
  • Remote Emergency Care and/or Maternity Emergency Care (or willingness to obtain)
  • Mandatory Reporting training for the Northern Territory
