About the Role

Anglicare’s Townsville and Community Services team is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare workforce. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis and focuses on delivering high-quality care within our Community Aged and Disability (CAD) services.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide specialist nursing care, clinical leadership, and professional guidance to ensure clients receive safe, effective, and person-centred care. The role also supports staff development while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the healthcare system.

Although the position is primarily based in the Sunshine Coast region, occasional travel to the Wide Bay region may be required.

Hourly Rate: $61.13 – $63.29 per hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

This role combines advanced clinical nursing practice with leadership responsibilities, helping maintain high standards of care within community health services.

Clinical Care and Case Management

  • Deliver specialised community nursing services including wound care, catheter care, stoma care, and insulin management
  • Develop and manage individualised care plans, referrals, and service delivery
  • Provide responsive communication and support to clients and carers
  • Monitor client health outcomes and evaluate care plans

Clinical Leadership and Staff Support

  • Provide clinical consultation, mentoring, and coaching to staff members
  • Lead and motivate team members to maintain best practice nursing standards
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team collaboration and service coordination
  • May act as Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator or participate in on-call support when required

Quality Improvement and Administration

  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice across the program
  • Participate in clinical forums and organisational reviews
  • Assist with implementing new systems, processes, and service improvements
  • Support clinical administration tasks including audits, documentation, and reporting
  • Coordinate nursing resources to ensure efficient service delivery

Role Requirements

To be considered for this clinical nurse job in Queensland, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current AHPRA registration with evidence of recent practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the service region

Compliance Checks

Applicants must also hold or obtain:

  • National Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Statutory declaration if you have lived outside Australia since age 16

Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in health or a related clinical specialty
  • Experience within community nursing, aged care, or disability support services

  • Experience working with funding programs such as HCP, CHSP, QCSS, and Fee for Service
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement systems
  • Strong networks within community healthcare services
