This Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse position offers a unique blend of clinical practice, education, and service development. You’ll work across acute, community, and primary care environments, supporting patients with complex wounds while empowering healthcare teams through training and guidance.
- Location: North London (Haringey & Islington)
- Contract: Full-time (job share/part-time considered)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (no weekends or bank holidays)

The Tissue Viability Team
The Tissue Viability Team plays a critical role in delivering specialist wound care services and improving clinical standards across the Trust.
What the Team Does
- Provides expert care for patients with complex and non-healing wounds
- Supports early intervention and prevention strategies
- Leads education and training for multidisciplinary teams
- Promotes evidence-based wound care practices across all settings
Key Responsibilities
Specialist Clinical Care
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex wounds across hospital and community settings
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised wound care treatment plans
- Provide ongoing monitoring, follow-up care, and clinical advice
Service Coordination & Support
- Assist in the daily running of the Tissue Viability Service
- Support Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) with patient referrals and case management
- Deliver care across diverse settings including hospitals, patient homes, GP practices, and care homes
Education & Training
- Contribute to training programmes on tissue viability and wound care
- Support staff development across multiple disciplines and experience levels
- Promote best practices and clinical excellence
Quality Improvement & Audit
- Participate in clinical audits, data collection, and service evaluation
- Support equipment management and ensure effective resource use
- Contribute to continuous improvement in wound care services
