This full-time Staff Nurse position (Band 5 equivalent) is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with flexibility to consider part-time hours. The role includes internal rotation across days, nights, and weekends, providing valuable exposure to a wide range of clinical scenarios.
You’ll be working in a dynamic ward environment that includes:
- Gynaecology inpatient services
- Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU)
- Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU)
- Pre-operative assessment services
This variety ensures a rich and rewarding clinical experience, ideal for nurses looking to develop expertise in gynaecology and women’s health nursing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Safe, Compassionate Patient Care
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing elective gynaecology and gynae-oncology procedures
- Support patients presenting with acute gynaecological conditions and emergencies
- Ensure care is delivered with empathy, dignity, and respect
Clinical Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans
- Assist with pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery
- Manage pain control, wound care, and discharge planning
- Deliver care aligned with evidence-based clinical practices
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with consultants, specialist nurses, healthcare assistants, and allied health professionals
- Contribute to effective communication and coordinated care delivery
- Support clinical decision-making in fast-paced environments
Patient Experience & Emotional Support
- Provide sensitive care in areas such as early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology
- Offer reassurance and guidance to patients and families during challenging times
- Promote a positive, supportive patient experience throughout the care pathway
Visa Sponsorship Information
This role is eligible for UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, subject to meeting the requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration, including relevant skill level and salary thresholds (minimum £25,000) and any role-specific criteria.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration
- Interest or experience in gynaecology or women’s health nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Flexibility to work across shifts including nights and weekends
