As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will provide expert clinical care and leadership within a nurse-led integrated primary care service. Working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, you’ll support individuals with complex health needs while helping to shape high standards of care across the team.
You will also play a vital role in promoting health, wellbeing, and rehabilitation—supporting patients as they prepare for reintegration into the community.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within a prison healthcare setting
- Manage a complex caseload, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes
- Conduct reception screenings and respond to medical emergencies
- Lead on long-term condition management and planned clinical care
Specialist Interventions
- Provide enhanced assessment and diagnostic services
- Support care across mental health, physical health, and substance misuse services
- Promote health education and preventative care initiatives
Team Coordination & Supervision
- Oversee the day-to-day coordination of the healthcare team
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Band 5 nurses, healthcare assistants, and students
- Offer guidance, support, and leadership to maintain high standards of care
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
- Proven experience in a clinical setting (Band 5 or above)
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage complex patient needs in a secure environment
Desirable Skills
- Experience in prison healthcare, mental health, or community care
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
