About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Drug and Alcohol Recovery Nurse to join the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in East and Mid Ross, within NHS Highland.
In this role, you will contribute to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across a diverse client population, supporting individuals on their recovery journey while working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Specialist Care
- Provide evidence-based nursing care to individuals experiencing drug and alcohol challenges
- Offer harm reduction advice and tailored interventions
- Ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery
Assessment & Care Planning
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments
- Develop, implement, and review personalised treatment and recovery plans
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Community Mental Health Teams and multidisciplinary professionals
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies including social work and criminal justice services
Leadership & Support
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior nursing staff
- Support a positive team culture focused on learning and continuous improvement
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Strong clinical knowledge in drug and alcohol recovery nursing
- Proven ability to deliver interventions and harm reduction strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in working within multidisciplinary and multi-agency environments
- Leadership capability with experience supporting or mentoring junior staff
