Role Overview
As a Staff Nurse – SACT/Oncology, you will be responsible for the safe and effective administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies and supportive treatments.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a group of patients while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Specialist Oncology Care
- Competently administer Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) in line with clinical protocols
- Deliver supportive treatments in an outpatient setting
- Monitor patients closely and respond to treatment-related side effects
High-Quality Patient Care
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care programmes
- Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times
Patient Management & Coordination
- Manage a defined group of patients throughout their treatment pathway
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider care team
- Ensure continuity and consistency in care delivery
Leadership & Mentorship
- Act as a role model for students and Clinical Support Workers
- Support learning, supervision, and professional development within the team
- Promote a positive and professional image of the nursing team and organisation
