Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
Patient Care & Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for triage and ongoing care
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment plans
- Advocate for patient participation in care planning and decision-making
- Communicate with community health providers for seamless transitional care
Emergency & Specialized Care
- Provide acute care, crisis intervention, health teaching, and counselling
- Respond effectively to emergencies in accordance with professional standards
- Apply nursing best practices while adhering to College of Nurses of Ontario guidelines and institutional security protocols
Collaboration & Program Development
- Work as part of an inter-professional health care team
- Contribute to institutional health program development
- Support colleagues through mentorship, education, and guidance
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Ability to deliver nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts within a 24/7 health care unit
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and other security screening as required
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of professional standards, nursing best practices, and relevant legislation (e.g., Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act)
- Experience in acute care, mental health, or rehabilitation nursing
