About the Role: Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) works closely with the Director of Care and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, resident-focused care. This includes conducting comprehensive health assessments, developing individualized care plans, administering medications, and ensuring that residents receive compassionate and safe clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Exceptional Resident Care

  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and monitor residents’ health status.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans based on residents’ needs and preferences.
  • Perform skilled nursing procedures and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaborate With the Healthcare Team

  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, residents, and families to ensure holistic care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and treatment planning.
  • Promote open communication to support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Provide Leadership and Guidance

  • Mentor nursing team members including RPNs, LPNs, and PSWs.
  • Promote professional standards aligned with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and share knowledge within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this Registered Nurse role, candidates should demonstrate strong clinical expertise, compassion, and leadership.

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or another recognized Canadian nursing regulatory body

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of geriatric care and evolving healthcare practices
  • Strong patient care and clinical assessment abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to changing resident needs
  • Basic administrative and computer proficiency

Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
