This role reports directly to the Program Manager of the 7 CTU unit, where you will support patients and families through compassionate, evidence-based nursing care.
Role of the Registered Nurse
Deliver Patient-Centred Care
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-focused nursing care. Working closely with patients and their families, you will assess healthcare needs, develop personalized care plans, and ensure high-quality treatment throughout the patient’s hospital stay.
Clinical Assessment and Care Planning
You will conduct ongoing assessments of patients’ health conditions, monitor progress, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to adjust care plans when necessary.
Provide Direct Patient Care
As part of the clinical team, you will deliver hands-on care that supports recovery, promotes patient comfort, and improves overall health outcomes.
Collaborate with the Healthcare Team
Successful nurses work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Participate in Quality Improvement
The Registered Nurse also contributes to hospital-wide initiatives that focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
Promote a Safe Healthcare Environment
Maintaining compliance with occupational health and safety standards is essential. Nurses actively support a culture that prioritizes workplace safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

Preferred Experience
- Previous medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred

Education and Professional Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Rescuer (C) certification recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
- Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practice and patient care standards
