Registered Nurse Position Overview
The Registered Nurse position is based at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the world’s leading cancer research and treatment facilities.
Working within the Medical/Radiation Inpatient Oncology Unit, the Registered Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality oncology nursing care to patients undergoing complex cancer treatments.

- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays)
- Wage Range: $39.07 – $56.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse
As part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
Primary responsibilities include:
Delivering Patient-Centered Oncology Care
Using advanced nursing knowledge and clinical judgment to provide high-quality care for oncology patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity.
Collaborating with Interdisciplinary Teams
Working closely with physicians, specialists, therapists, and healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.
Upholding Professional and Ethical Standards
Practicing according to the guidelines established by the College of Nurses of Ontario, UHN policies, and recognized nursing standards.
Continuous Professional Development
Participating in ongoing education, training, and professional development to enhance nursing knowledge and patient care quality.

Evaluating clinical practices and implementing improvements that support better patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
Qualifications for Registered Nurse Applicants
Candidates applying for the Registered Nurse role should meet the following requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
