About the Role

Deliver Resident-Centered Care

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality aged care services, ensuring residents receive the clinical support and personal attention they deserve. Working within a collaborative clinical team, your focus will always be on enhancing residents’ quality of life.

Residents often live in the community for many years, making continuity of care and trusted relationships essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical nursing care for residents, including support through complex health needs and end-of-life care.
  • Develop and manage long-term care plans and conduct clinical assessments.
  • Lead shifts within the care centre, making informed and confident clinical decisions.
  • Deliver personalised nursing care and monitor resident progress in partnership with families.
  • Guide and mentor caregivers and healthcare assistants during shifts.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Shift Schedule

This role follows a structured shift pattern:

  • Sunday to Thursday – Morning (AM) shifts
  • Occasional flexibility to cover PM or Night shifts when required.

Qualifications and Skills

What We’re Looking For

To succeed as a Registered Nurse in this role, you should bring both professional expertise and a genuine passion for supporting older adults.

Essential Requirements

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse license with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Strong understanding of aged care nursing and retirement village healthcare services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while making confident clinical decisions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with InterRAI assessments.
  • Syringe driver training.
  • Leadership ability and emotional resilience when managing complex care situations.
