We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team and help provide person-centred care that enhances the health, comfort, and wellbeing of our residents.
About Our Alexandra Gardens Community
Located in Rockhampton, Queensland, the Alexandra Gardens facility is a 94-bed residential aged care community designed to create a comfortable, home-like environment for residents.
The community is thoughtfully organised into five smaller households, each featuring its own kitchen, lounge, and dining areas. This design allows residents to experience a more personal living environment while receiving professional care and support.
Surrounded by natural greenery and filled with natural light, the single-level facility reflects values of compassion, dignity, and inclusivity, ensuring residents enjoy a warm and supportive atmosphere.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in residential aged care, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to residents. Working closely with care staff, medical professionals, and allied health teams, you will help coordinate care services while ensuring compliance with national aged care standards.
This position combines clinical leadership, direct patient care, and care coordination to support residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver resident-centred care based on individual care plans and personal preferences
- Conduct health assessments and develop care plans in consultation with residents and families
- Supervise and mentor personal care staff to ensure safe and effective care delivery
- Perform clinical procedures within professional scope and organisational policies
- Maintain compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and safety regulations
- Collaborate with medical practitioners and allied health professionals
- Support a positive and respectful care environment for residents

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, applicants should demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and a genuine passion for aged care.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification with current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 1 year experience in residential aged care (2 years preferred)
- Availability to work some night shifts
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards
- Knowledge of the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate, empathetic approach to resident care
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 based on experience
- Additional Benefits: Superannuation, salary packaging, allowances
