Job Description

Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities (0.8 FTE) are available for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Ward team. This role offers a supportive environment focused on clinical excellence, teamwork, and high-quality patient care.

about the ward
Our Surgical Ward provides specialised care for patients recovering from a range of surgical procedures. The unit delivers comprehensive post-operative care with integrated telemetry monitoring and supports patients with complex surgical and medical needs, including colorectal, bariatric, and intercostal drain management. You will work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care.

key responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care to surgical and post-operative patients
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to support recovery
Assist in maintaining safe clinical practices and high standards of patient care
Support continuous improvement and evidence-based nursing practice

what you will bring
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Minimum three years of experience in an acute or surgical nursing environment
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to escalate patient care when required
Experience with telemetry monitoring is desirable, or willingness to develop this skill
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Commitment to delivering safe, patient-focused healthcare
