Position Overview
As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) at Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home, you will:
- Apply the nursing process to support residents in achieving optimal health.
- Provide care across multiple settings including acute care, personal care homes, home care, public health, and primary health care.
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain competencies according to Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba.
- Exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks, and support quality improvement initiatives.
This role encourages autonomy while fostering collaboration in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, insured vehicle ($1,000,000 liability).
- Completion of mandatory courses such as SCHIPP & VPP relevant to your area of practice.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Ability to foster collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Conflict resolution, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English; French proficiency an asset for bilingual positions.
- Respect for cultural diversity and confidentiality.
- Adaptability to varied shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends.
