About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Ward, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care across a range of surgical specialties, including:
- General Surgery
- Urology
- Colorectal Surgery
- Gynaecology
- Oncological Surgery

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care
- Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs)
- Provide patient education and support for recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life care
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes
- Act as a role model for best clinical practices and safety standards

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
- Current AHPRA registration (unrestricted)
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in an acute surgical setting
- Experience in post-surgical care (e.g., orthopaedics, neurosurgery, plastics)
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A proactive, patient-focused approach
Additional Requirements
- Authority to work in Australia
- Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check and immunisation compliance
