About the Role
As a Tamariki Ora Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and development of children under five, while empowering whānau with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver health and developmental assessments for tamariki under 5 years
- Support whānau in identifying needs and accessing appropriate services
- Promote health education and literacy within the community
- Work collaboratively within an integrated health and social services team
- Build strong, trusting relationships with whānau, colleagues, and community partners
This role combines clinical nursing expertise with community engagement, making it ideal for nurses who value meaningful, relationship-based care.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in community-focused environments and values cultural connection.
Essential Requirements
- Current RN registration with a valid APC
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with whānau or in community or Māori health settings
Preferred (or Willingness to Work Towards)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care
- Independent Vaccinator status
- Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga qualification
