The Role: Registered Nurse – Oncology (Full-Time)
Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (rostered day off each fortnight)
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (part-time considered)
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based oncology nursing care within a seven-chair day treatment unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and systemic anti-cancer treatments
- Deliver supportive therapies and monitor patient response
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and whānau
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
- Participate in clinical trials treatment delivery
- Uphold national healthcare standards and quality improvement initiatives
- Practice in alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this oncology nursing position, you will demonstrate:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Current Annual Practising Certificate
- Competency in systemic anti-cancer therapy administration
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient-centred, culturally safe approach to care
Experience in clinical trials or oncology education is highly desirable.
