The Role: Registered Nurse – Oncology (Full-Time)

Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (rostered day off each fortnight)
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (part-time considered)

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based oncology nursing care within a seven-chair day treatment unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy and systemic anti-cancer treatments
  • Deliver supportive therapies and monitor patient response
  • Provide compassionate education and support to patients and whānau
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Participate in clinical trials treatment delivery
  • Uphold national healthcare standards and quality improvement initiatives
  • Practice in alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this oncology nursing position, you will demonstrate:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Competency in systemic anti-cancer therapy administration
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient-centred, culturally safe approach to care

Experience in clinical trials or oncology education is highly desirable.
