Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and clinically competent Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Outpatients Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who has completed their preceptorship and is looking to build a diverse clinical portfolio across multiple specialist clinics.

In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based patient care while working across a variety of outpatient services. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing to high standards of care and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in line with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice
  • Support outpatient clinics and assist with procedures, including biopsies and wound care
  • Work flexibly across different clinic areas within the department
  • Provide unit cover in the absence of the Unit Manager when required
  • Assess patient needs and escalate concerns appropriately, including safeguarding issues
  • Identify and report safety concerns to senior staff or security teams
  • Safely perform manual handling using appropriate equipment and techniques
  • Supervise Healthcare Support Workers and mentor student nurses
  • Contribute to staff training, development, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Skills & Experience Required

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Completion of preceptorship programme
  • Minimum of 1 year post-registration experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and use initiative effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in managing challenging situations and conflict resolution
  • Excellent observational and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working patterns and departmental needs
