Your Role as a Nurse2 in Urgent Care

Under the supervision of the Manager of Health Services, the nurse2 plays a key role in delivering professional nursing care to patients with varying levels of complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive and patient-centered nursing care
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments safely and effectively
  • Coordinate patient care, including admissions and discharge planning
  • Take a leadership role within the healthcare team
  • Respond to urgent and unpredictable patient needs with confidence
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and ethical guidelines

Qualifications & Professional Requirements

We’re looking for a skilled and committed nurse2 who can perform effectively in a demanding clinical environment.

Education & Certification:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current CPR certification (as per employer policy)

Preferred Certifications (Assets):

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • CNA certification relevant to the clinical area

Experience:

  • Recent nursing experience required
  • Emergency or urgent care experience strongly preferred

This role includes participation in the Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) program, designed to strengthen your expertise in emergency nursing and patient management.

  • Level 1 training completed within 2 months of hire
  • Levels 2 & 3 completed within 12 months
  • Additional required training completed within 24 months

This structured pathway ensures you continue to grow and excel in your role.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba (Concordia Hospital – Urgent Care Unit)
  • Schedule: Days, nights, and weekends
  • Work Type: On-site, 0.60 FTE
  • Environment: Fast-paced, high-demand clinical setting requiring focus and resilience
