Your Role as a Nurse2 in Urgent Care
Under the supervision of the Manager of Health Services, the nurse2 plays a key role in delivering professional nursing care to patients with varying levels of complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and patient-centered nursing care
- Administer prescribed medical treatments safely and effectively
- Coordinate patient care, including admissions and discharge planning
- Take a leadership role within the healthcare team
- Respond to urgent and unpredictable patient needs with confidence
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and ethical guidelines
Qualifications & Professional Requirements
We’re looking for a skilled and committed nurse2 who can perform effectively in a demanding clinical environment.
Education & Certification:
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Current CPR certification (as per employer policy)
Preferred Certifications (Assets):
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- CNA certification relevant to the clinical area
Experience:
- Recent nursing experience required
- Emergency or urgent care experience strongly preferred

- Level 1 training completed within 2 months of hire
- Levels 2 & 3 completed within 12 months
- Additional required training completed within 24 months
This structured pathway ensures you continue to grow and excel in your role.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba (Concordia Hospital – Urgent Care Unit)
- Schedule: Days, nights, and weekends
- Work Type: On-site, 0.60 FTE
- Environment: Fast-paced, high-demand clinical setting requiring focus and resilience
