About the Digestive Health Unit

The 11LP Digestive Health Unit is a specialized 30-bed unit dedicated to pre- and post-procedural care for patients at the internationally recognized Digestive Health Institute.

Advanced Care You’ll Be Part Of

  • Cutting-edge diagnostic tools, including AI-assisted technologies
  • Complex gastrointestinal and digestive health treatments
  • Exposure to innovative procedures such as:
    • Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM)
    • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
    • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

This unit also supports the development of a future solid organ transplant program, offering Nurse Residents exposure to advanced clinical practices and research-driven care.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Learning

  • Deliver bedside patient care under the guidance of a preceptor or charge nurse.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor progress and adjust care to achieve optimal outcomes.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Advocate for patients and their families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Build respectful, inclusive relationships with colleagues and patients.

Documentation & Safety

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Follow all legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive care environment for all patients.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Licensure & Certification

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
