About the Role
As a Nurse Unit Manager at Arcare Werribee, you will provide leadership and clinical oversight for a dedicated care team within a specific unit. This role is essential in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
You will play a key role in guiding staff, supporting families, and maintaining high clinical standards within the residence.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care
Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care that addresses their medical, physical, and emotional needs.
Team Leadership
Supervise and support nurses, caregivers, and support staff to maintain a positive and collaborative working environment.
Care Planning
Oversee the development and implementation of individualised care plans, ensuring each resident’s preferences and health needs are respected.
Medication Management
Ensure safe and accurate medication administration, following established clinical guidelines and protocols.
Family Communication
Build strong relationships with families by providing regular updates and involving them in care planning and decision-making.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong clinical expertise and leadership capabilities within the aged care sector.
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum two years of experience in aged care nursing
- Understanding of aged care accreditation standards
- Experience working with AN-ACC (Australian National Aged Care Classification)
- Proven skills in medication administration and wound management
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in care planning, documentation, and clinical assessments
- Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team
