Nurse Position Overview
The Nurse role supports the Personalized Transplant Care Research Program, which focuses on improving outcomes and healthcare experiences for individuals living with immunocompromising conditions.

Core Responsibilities of the Nurse
As a clinical research nurse, your role involves supporting both patient engagement and research integrity.
Participant Screening and Recruitment
Identify eligible participants through pre-screening assessments and ensure alignment with clinical trial inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Informed Consent and Participant Education
Explain study objectives, procedures, and potential risks to participants while ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Clinical Study Coordination
Organize and manage research visits, including appointment scheduling, documentation, and follow-up communication.
Data Collection and Documentation
Collect clinical information, survey data, and biospecimens while maintaining accurate records in systems such as REDCap and other clinical research platforms.
Patient Engagement and Retention
Maintain ongoing communication with participants to ensure they remain informed, comfortable, and engaged throughout the study.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure study procedures comply with ICH-GCP guidelines, Health Canada regulations, and RI-MUHC research policies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with principal investigators, clinical trial nurses, laboratory teams, and research coordinators to maintain efficient research operations.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing or
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN / BNI)
Professional Certification
- Registered Nurse Clinician or Registered Nurse in good standing with OIIQ
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
- Professional nursing membership preferred
Work Experience
- 2–3 years of nursing experience
- Experience in clinical research or patient care environments is beneficial
