About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Nurse to guide and support our clinical team in delivering exceptional primary health care services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining clinical excellence, strengthening care systems, and fostering a high-performing, supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of nurses to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Oversee clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety
• Develop and refine clinical systems and workflows
• Support a collaborative, team-focused workplace culture
• Promote patient-centred care and community wellbeing

This is a permanent role with flexibility—offering approximately 32 hours per week or full-time options for the right candidate.

About You

As a skilled Lead Nurse, you bring both clinical expertise and strong leadership capability. You’re confident, adaptable, and passionate about empowering others while delivering excellent care.

What You’ll Bring

• Extensive experience in primary health care nursing
• Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting
• Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Independent vaccinator and cervical smear taker
• Strong understanding of clinical leadership, healthcare management, and quality improvement
• Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills

Bonus Skills

• Postgraduate qualification in nursing (or working towards it)
• Familiarity with PMS systems (Indici preferred) and MS Office
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural competency, and equity-focused care
