As a Labor & Delivery (L&D) Nurse, you play a vital role in supporting mothers and newborns through one of life’s most transformative experiences. Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Care Planning
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of laboring patients, monitoring physical, psychological, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education, including preparation for labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Clinical Implementation & Monitoring
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and implement interventions according to best practices.
- Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes promptly to the healthcare team.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Reassess patients at regular intervals to evaluate the effectiveness of care.
- Facilitate bedside shift reports and maintain continuity of care between nursing teams.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications & Licenses
Required:
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification within 6 months
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in Labor & Delivery or obstetric nursing
