Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready to step into a leadership role? An exciting opportunity is now available to join Iona Digby Harris Home in Nhill as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM).

With two full-time positions available, this role offers the chance to work in a supportive aged care environment while contributing to high-quality patient care and team leadership.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for nurses looking to grow into leadership while continuing to deliver hands-on clinical care. You will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Nurse Unit Manager to ensure best practice standards across the facility.

  • Location: Nhill, Victoria
  • Employment Type: Full-time (80 hours per fortnight)
  • Classification: YW11 – RN ANUM, Year 1
  • Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) Enterprise Agreement 2024–2028

About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a key role in supporting clinical operations and leading nursing teams. The position involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, person-centred care.

You will contribute to maintaining clinical standards while ensuring residents, families, and carers receive compassionate and professional support.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will balance leadership and clinical duties to ensure efficient service delivery.

  • Support daily clinical operations and team coordination
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care aligned with best practice standards
  • Manage staff performance and provide leadership on shift
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and risk management standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in healthcare delivery
  • Promote a positive and collaborative care environment

Key Selection Criteria

Essential Requirements

  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions in complex situations
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Knowledge of iCare, ACFI, and Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Desirable

  • Management qualifications or working towards leadership training

Pre-Requisites

Applicants must meet the following requirements prior to employment:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Full vaccination (including influenza) as per Department of Health directives
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
