About the Role
The Clinical Risk Resource Nurse (CRRN) plays an important role in coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care across the hospital. The position ensures patient care aligns with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s National Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, along with relevant policies and guidelines from the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
In this role, you will provide expert clinical advice and support to nursing staff, health professionals, and patients throughout the facility during after-hours operations. Your contribution will help maintain safe, efficient, and responsive care across wards and services.
Working closely with the After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM), the CRRN assists in addressing clinical care challenges and ensures best practices are followed across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients
- Providing expert clinical guidance to nurses and healthcare professionals
- Supporting safe patient care across wards during after-hours operations
- Assisting in the management of clinical risk and care concerns
- Coaching and mentoring nursing staff, including novice and early-career nurses
- Promoting professional development through role modelling and knowledge sharing
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes
