About the Opportunity
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) within the Medical Unit, you will play an important leadership role in supporting the professional development of nursing staff while ensuring high standards of patient care.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical education, workflow coordination, and quality improvement initiatives across the medical ward. This role is particularly suited to a nurse who enjoys mentoring colleagues, sharing clinical expertise, and promoting best practices in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will contribute to both patient care and team development within the medical unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff, students, and allied health professionals
- Coordinating education programs, competency assessments, and staff training
- Promoting evidence-based clinical practice and continuous quality improvement
- Supporting efficient workflow and patient care coordination within the medical ward
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and healthcare standards
- Acting in a relieving capacity for the Clinical Manager or specialty leadership roles when required
Through these responsibilities, the CNS plays a vital role in strengthening clinical standards and enhancing patient outcomes.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience along with leadership and teaching capabilities.
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum three years’ experience working as a medical nurse in a hospital medical ward
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and staff education
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
