Position Overview – Nurse (Clinical/Ambulatory) GS-610-11

Location: Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, Hinesville, GA
Salary: $80,910 – $102,763 per year
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
Primary Specialties: Radiology, OB/GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology

At Winn Army Community Hospital, a 112-bed community hospital, you will contribute to a new Women’s Health and Mammography Center and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care for soldiers and their families.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical/Ambulatory Nurse, you will:

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical and telephone triaging
  • Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and specialty care

Patient & Staff Education

  • Provide guidance and education to patients, families, and staff
  • Orient new staff to clinic procedures and standards

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain competency folders and ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical observations

Care Coordination & Crisis Management

  • Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination of patient care
  • Respond to acute patient care situations as necessary

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following:

Basic Nursing Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Associate, or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current, active, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or territory
  • Passing score on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional nursing experience providing ambulatory care, medication administration, and patient/staff education
  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in nursing or related medical science qualifies as an advanced option

Special Considerations

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Foreign degree holders must provide CGFNS certification and proof of English proficiency
  • Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series may be exempt from certain requirements
