Employment Details

This position is offered as a Full-Time appointment (80 hours per fortnight) and may be available on a permanent, fixed-term, or casual basis.

For candidates appointed on a fixed-term or casual basis, there may be opportunities for extension or permanent employment depending on service needs.

About the Role

As a Staff Development Nurse, you will play a vital role in strengthening clinical excellence within the Medical and Surgical Ward at Broome Hospital. Your focus will be on supporting nurses and clinical staff through education, training, and professional development programs.

Working closely with nursing teams and leadership, you will help ensure that clinical staff maintain high standards of care and continue to develop their professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the clinical development and competency of nursing staff
  • Identifying training needs within the Medical and Surgical Ward
  • Designing and delivering staff education and development programs
  • Providing mentorship and support for nurses and nursing students
  • Facilitating clinical updates and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Promoting continuous improvement and quality clinical care

Through these initiatives, you will contribute to the overall clinical excellence and patient care outcomes at Broome Regional Health Campus.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Strong clinical experience in General Medical Nursing

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid computer and digital documentation skills
