About the Role

Southern Cross Care WA is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join the clinical team at Germanus Kent House, a modern aged care facility located in the vibrant town of Broome.

Workplace Location

Germanus Kent House – Broome, Western Australia

The facility accommodates up to 55 residents and is designed to reflect the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Kimberley region. It provides a welcoming environment where residents feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home.

Work Schedule

  • Employment Type: Full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Shift Time: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $44.66 – $52.70
  • Regional allowance: $10.00 per hour
  • Superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits

Through not-for-profit salary packaging, employees may reduce their taxable income by up to $18,550 annually, allowing them to take home more of their earnings.

Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in aged care, you will play a vital role in leading clinical care and supporting residents’ wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising small clinical teams
  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred aged care
  • Conducting health assessments and documenting outcomes
  • Developing personalised care plans with residents and their families
  • Ensuring compliance with aged care legislation and clinical standards
  • Supporting staff to maintain best practices in healthcare delivery
  • Promoting dignity, respect, and quality of life for residents

Skills and Experience

Southern Cross Care WA is looking for compassionate professionals who combine strong clinical skills with a genuine passion for caring for older Australians.

Essential Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Effective multitasking and time-management skills
  • Understanding of Commonwealth Aged Care Standards
  • Knowledge of AN-ACC funding and care requirements

While aged care experience is beneficial, it is not essential for candidates who bring strong nursing skills and a commitment to resident-centred care.
