Registered Nurse Role Overview
This full-time registered nurse position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your clinical expertise while building meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities
As a registered nurse, you will play a critical role in maintaining high clinical standards and ensuring resident wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality clinical nursing care to residents
- Leading and supporting a team of caregivers
- Developing and monitoring individualised care plans
- Conducting clinical assessments and health evaluations
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ensuring compliance with Nga Paerewa health and disability standards
- Promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive care environment
Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the ideal registered nurse candidate should bring both clinical expertise and genuine compassion for aged care.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse qualification recognised in New Zealand
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Previous nursing experience (aged care preferred but not essential)
Key Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Confidence using digital healthcare systems and documentation tools
- Understanding of Treaty of Waitangi principles in healthcare practice

- Location: Balclutha, Clutha District, Otago, New Zealand
- Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
- Hours: 32+ hours per week
- Shifts: Morning, afternoon, night, and weekend rotations
