About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in offender healthcare, you will deliver high-quality primary care and specialist interventions within a prison setting. Working in a nurse-led, integrated healthcare model, you’ll support patients with diverse and often complex health needs.

Your role will be central to improving health outcomes, promoting wellbeing, and supporting individuals on their journey toward rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Support

  • Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care
  • Conduct reception screenings for new arrivals
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the prison setting
  • Manage long-term health conditions and ongoing care needs
  • Run planned clinics and provide health assessments

Specialist & Preventative Care

  • Deliver enhanced assessment and diagnostic interventions
  • Support mental health, physical health, and substance misuse care
  • Promote health education and wellbeing initiatives

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from both newly qualified nurses and experienced Band 5 Registered Nurses seeking a rewarding career in prison healthcare.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
  • Strong clinical and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a secure, fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to patient-centred, compassionate care
