About the Digestive Health Unit
The 11LP Digestive Health Unit is a specialized 30-bed unit dedicated to pre- and post-procedural care for patients at the internationally recognized Digestive Health Institute.
Advanced Care You’ll Be Part Of
- Cutting-edge diagnostic tools, including AI-assisted technologies
- Complex gastrointestinal and digestive health treatments
- Exposure to innovative procedures such as:
- Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM)
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
This unit also supports the development of a future solid organ transplant program, offering Nurse Residents exposure to advanced clinical practices and research-driven care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Learning
- Deliver bedside patient care under the guidance of a preceptor or charge nurse.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor progress and adjust care to achieve optimal outcomes.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Advocate for patients and their families with empathy and professionalism.
- Build respectful, inclusive relationships with colleagues and patients.
Documentation & Safety
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Follow all legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure a safe and supportive care environment for all patients.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensure & Certification
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
