About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in a surgical ward, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering personalised care. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll ensure every patient receives safe, effective, and dignified treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care
- Manage a caseload of 6–8 acute patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Escalate care needs to specialist teams when required
- Administer medications, including intravenous therapies
- Manage clinical interventions such as epidurals, PCA, and syringe drivers
- Support and mentor student nurses and newly qualified staff
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold care standards
About Warrington Ward
Warrington Ward is a 17-bed surgical ward offering a diverse and engaging clinical environment.
Specialties Include:
- ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
- Head and Neck Cancer care
- Maxillofacial Surgery
- Gynaecology
- Ophthalmology
- General Surgery
This is a fast-paced ward with a high patient turnover and an average length of stay of 2–3 days, making it an ideal setting to build advanced clinical skills and gain broad surgical experience.
