Job Description

Are you a motivated nurse ready to take your skills to the next level? This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a highly respected Critical Care team, working across both the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU).

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, clinically advanced environment—supported by a structured education programme designed to help you thrive in critical care nursing in the UK.

Role Overview

As a Staff Nurse in Critical Care, you will deliver safe, evidence-based care to critically ill patients while supporting their families through complex and often challenging situations.

This is a full-time role (minimum 30 hours per week), requiring flexibility and commitment to a 24-hour care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Specialist Critical Care

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in ITU and HDU settings
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Deliver treatments in line with clinical protocols and best practices

Maintain Professional Standards

  • Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies and clinical governance standards
  • Uphold patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times

Work Within a Multidisciplinary Team

  • Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Contribute to care planning and clinical decision-making
  • Support families with clear communication and compassionate care

Develop Advanced Clinical Skills

  • Participate in a structured induction and in-house training programme
  • Work towards national critical care competencies
  • Engage in ongoing clinical supervision and education
