As a Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and holistic care to patients throughout their hospital journey—from admission to discharge.

You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to maintain excellent clinical standards while contributing to a positive and supportive ward environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver High-Quality Clinical Care

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients and patient groups
  • Ensure care is delivered in line with clinical standards and best practices

Leadership & Ward Management

  • Take charge of the ward when required following a structured development period
  • Support the management of staff and resources in the absence of senior leadership
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment

Team Support & Mentorship

  • Supervise and support junior staff
  • Assist in the teaching and development of students and newly qualified nurses
  • Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Flexibility & Service Support

  • Participate in rotations across the Division of Surgery and Anaesthetics, including admission and discharge areas
  • Work across a full 24-hour shift pattern
  • Travel between hospital sites when required
