Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse to join the Quality and Safety Division within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). In this role, you will apply advanced clinical judgement to influence patient outcomes across a complex caseload while supporting a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.

Working within the CQ Safe Care Framework, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical governance, enhance care standards, and promote evidence-based practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead research initiatives, mentor staff, and contribute to continuous improvement in regional healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level clinical advice on policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead the monitoring and evaluation of clinical incidents and outcomes
  • Drive clinical research and innovation to improve patient care
  • Apply independent professional judgement across diverse clinical settings
  • Support staff development through mentoring, training, and orientation
  • Strengthen clinical governance and promote a culture of safety and accountability

Salary & Benefits

Total Remuneration Package: Up to $135,857 per annum, including:

  • Hourly rate: $56.08 – $60.05 per hour
  • 12.75% employer superannuation
