Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Staff Nurse to join a supportive and dynamic nursing team within a community hospital setting. This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave, providing valuable experience in delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while working closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and compassionate care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high standards of evidence-based nursing care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
- Assist in the organisation and management of the clinical area
- Support the education, development, and supervision of junior staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to clinical protocols
- Contribute to a safe, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare environment
About the Facility
This role is based in a friendly community hospital featuring:
- An 18-bed inpatient ward
- A busy outpatient department
- A Minor Injuries Unit
You will work in a close-knit team environment where staff are encouraged to develop new skills, including extended competencies such as phlebotomy, and stay updated with the latest clinical practices.
Skills & Requirements
- Registered Nurse with relevant professional qualifications
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to delivering patient-centred care
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment
Desirable:
- Willingness to develop extended clinical skills
- Ability to speak Welsh (Welsh and English speakers are welcome)
Training & Development
You will receive a comprehensive induction program, ongoing training, and continuous professional development support. Regular staff meetings and performance reviews ensure you are supported throughout your role.
Working Pattern
- Fixed-term contract (12 months – maternity cover)
- Flexible working as per service requirements
