Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Intravenous Assessment and Support (IVAS) Unit at Frimley Park Hospital. This role is ideal for nurses who want to work in a progressive outpatient environment focused on delivering high-quality infusion therapies while improving patient outcomes.
You’ll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team dedicated to preventing hospital admissions and enhancing patient care through innovative IV services.
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse in the IVAS Unit, you will support the delivery of outpatient and ambulatory IV therapies. Your role will focus on providing safe, efficient, and patient-centred infusion services, helping individuals receive treatment without unnecessary hospital stays.
This is a developing service, offering excellent opportunities to expand your clinical expertise in IV therapy, vascular access, and outpatient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality IV therapy services in an outpatient setting
- Administer treatments such as infusions, blood transfusions, and venesections
- Assist with the insertion and management of peripheral vascular access devices
- Monitor patients during IV treatments, ensuring safety and comfort
- Support the prevention of hospital admissions through effective outpatient care
- Maintain accurate patient records using clinical systems (e.g., EPIC)
- Promote vessel health and preservation during all patient interactions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
- Follow Trust policies, procedures, and clinical best practices
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN
- Strong interest or experience in IV therapy or outpatient care
- Excellent clinical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
